ROLE SYNOPSISPerform testing in chemical/scientific research environment and applications support. Some field QC work/customer support on location may be required (less than 10% of the job). Will communicate daily with both internal and external customers (must have good interpersonal skills) and provide product support. Communicates results through presentation and documentation to various groups (must have good written and verbal communication skills). Helps develop and test new products with senior chemists/scientistsHandle special projects as assigned. They will also work on: Cement testing (thickening time, free water, etc), Water Analysis, Acid Quality Control, Compatibility Analysis, and Fracturing Fluids. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES Works with other scientists to perform geological characterization Studies on formation samples, including scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, x-ray fluorescence, thin section petrography, digital photography, and fluid compatibility studies. Compiles data in reports detailing reservoir characteristics, potential formation damage mechanisms, and recommended wellsite stimulation treatment options. Receives incoming geological formation samples Preps samples for testing Performs other duties as assigned ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Bachelor Degree in Chemistry OR Bachelor of Science degree in another scientific discipline with a minimal of 2 years of lab experience). Basic water chemistry knowledge. 1+ years of experience Microsoft Word and Excel. Advanced training in discipline associated with tasks of the lab. Must be flexible with working: 11 on 3 off rotating days and afternoon/night as business demand. Day Shift: 8am -- 5pm Afternoon/Night shift: 12pm -- 9pm. DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Working experience and knowledge of testing procedures including ICP and Spectrophotometer. Oilfield Chemistry experience -- specifically working with FRAC fluids. Experience working with Microsoft Access Database. Location: Odessa Compensation: DOEPrincipals only.
