URS FlintProject Manager - Odessa, TXJob Description: CANDIDATES WITH OIL & GAS EXPERIENCE ARE PREFEREDJOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:   As a member of management, the Project Manager is charged with assisting Senior Management in supervising construction projects according to Company policies and procedures.  KEY RESPONSIBILTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Assist in conducting the area safety program.  Instruct crews on matters of safety and make certain that all project employees are complying with Company safety policies.  Supervise major contracts, minor contracts or hourly jobs as assigned by Senior Management.  Once a job is assigned, he/she will be responsible for proper guidance of the work.  He/she will act in accordance with approved plans and procedures, and exercise the best working practices at all times.  Purchase materials and arrange for services for project and bid jobs according to the bid specifications and job plan.  Any deviations must be approved by Senior Management.  Purchase materials and arrange for services in connection with hourly jobs, subject only to the approval of the customer.  Examine and approve daily time sheets and purchases applicable to jobs under his/her supervision.  Be alert for new work coming up and advise Senior Management, so a contact can be made promptly.  Assist with customer entertainment and contact as job conditions dictate; coordinating such activities with those performed by Senior Management.  Bid jobs and prepare job plans as requested.  Be alert to care and misuse of Company equipment and take corrective steps where misuse is evident.  Obtain field work orders and time sheet approvals from customers for work under his/her supervision.  Maintain close tool control.  This will include attention to purchases, prevention of tool loss, adequacy of tools for the job, and care and maintenance of his tools.  Cooperate with clerks in providing source papers, obtaining approvals, and the processing of reports and records with a minimum of delay.  Furnish information for bidding as requested.  Perform special assignments as requested.  Follow job plans as they are set out.  Recommend deviations from job plan where inconsistencies or problems arise and carry out such approved changes.  Participate in and support FESI’s Continuous Improvement process.    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS;  Knowledge, Skill, Ability:        Ability to develop detailed construction project plans.   Ability to actively participate in developing detailed construction schedules.  Capable of preparing bar charts to describe scheduled progress.   Ability to actively participate in developing detailed cost and budget estimates.   Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.   Ability to calculate square footage, volumes, and percentages using a calculator.   Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, especially as required in providing construction information to employees, account representatives, and vendors and subcontractors.   Proven skill and effectiveness as a superintendent, with the ability to define and communicate objectives, delegate and prioritize assignments, and accomplish desired results through others, often supervising multiple crew locations simultaneously. Equivalent Education And Experience:    High School Graduate.   One to two years of technical college training preferred.   At least five years of progressively responsible related experience   Related experience in the construction of pipelines and facilities for the oil and gas industry preferred.About URS Flint:URS-Flint is North America's leading fully integrated midstream oil and gas service provider to the energy and resource industries.
