Position Summary: To support the Fund Development Department in all aspects of development, focusing on fund development in the West and North West Regions, being Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Coleman, Brown, Comanche, Erath, Irion, Tom Green, Concho, McCulloch, San Saba, Mills, Hamilton, Schleicher, Menard, Mason, and Sutton. Provides support to the Development Team and is responsible for donor records using the fund development software. Position Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:•Research, solicit and secure funds from corporations, individuals, and alumnae, with a focus on major gifts.•Develop and work collaboratively with the Committees in assigned areas to develop, implement and solicit funding support through special events including but not limited to Women of Distinction.•Work collaboratively with communications staff to design print material.•Work with Development Department staff to facilitate print and digital mail campaign in assigned regions.•Develops relationships with foundations in assigned areas and provides support to the Development Executive for Grants and Annual Giving as requested to develop grant proposals. •Provides support as needed to the DE for Grants to implement a FOGS Campaign (friends of Girl Scouting) in assigned region. •Represent the council in a professional manner. •Keep donor records current and accurate within the council donor database.•Attends Development Team meetings and events produced by the Council's Development Team. •Support all efforts of the Fund Development team to ensure that deadlines are met and that the Girl Scouts is the most meaningful philanthropic investment in our community. •Continue professional development through trainings, webinars and education. •Participate in community civic organizations as appropriate to promote a philanthropic support to Girl Scouts of Central Texas.•Meet goals and objectives as outlined for Fund Development Department.•Develop and provide standard monthly reporting.Staff Member Role in Mission Efforts:•All staff members are required to have an active role in the council's membership, fund development, cookie program, and camp efforts, as set forth by the Fund Development Director.•As a staff member, you are a representative of Girl Scouts of Central Texas. People form their impressions of the council, in part, based on their interaction with you. Every personal contact is with a current or potential donor to or member of the council, and thus, these impressions can influence their actions.•As a staff member, it is your accountability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with other staff members, volunteers, members, and community representatives to ensure results for mutually acceptable goals.•All staff members are required to join the Girl Scout movement, accept the belief and principles of the Girl Scout movement, and has the ability to work with diverse populations.Position Requirements:•BA/BS degree required or equivalent education; CFRE preferred.•Membership in GSUSA•Excellent communication skills: both written & oral•Strong people skills to support the development of council fund raising programs by helping to identify organizations, businesses and individuals who are potential donors or grant sources•Strong computer skills, proficient in Word for Windows, Excel, Access, or other database systems•Good proofing/editing skills•Ability to work with little supervision •Ability to multitask•Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including nights and/or weekends•Detailed oriented and flexible•Strong people skillsPhysical Requirements:Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting upper body. Capable of lifting up to 30lbsCapable of viewing computer monitor for long periodsEnvironmental Demands:Continuous indoor activity and exposure to florescent light.Frequent exposure to computer, video, and other copier emissions.Some outdoor activities and exposure to weather.Other Working Conditions:•Continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate office attire•Continuous work as a team member and ability to work independently with some supervision•Frequent work under stress and under pressure of deadlines with overlapping projects•Continuous ability to work well with others•Frequent travel with possible overnight staysImportant Note:The information contained in this job description is intended to outline the general nature and scope of work being performed by an employee assigned to this position.
