The Technical Support Engineer will exercise independent initiative with the authority to act in order to meet all requirements for the customer.Our Ideal CandidateThe Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring our customers' success and satisfaction with our products and contributing to their long-term loyalty. You will work closely with the rest of the Informatica support team, QA, Engineering, Solutions Delivery, Sales, and Product Management to ensure that Informatica is delivering overall superior service and support to our customers.Responsibilities• Diagnose and resolve customer inquiries related to operating Informatica Data Archive and Data Masking software products in their environment.• With Informatica Data Archive, you will help customers to identify and move inactive data transaction and master data to another database or to a secure, highly compressed immutable file.• Work with Informatica Data Archive Application Accelerators/pre-packaged business templates with application-aware content to allow customer teams to maintain data integrity while implementing the data archive solution and after running the data archive program.• Handhold customers to understand and better manage data growth• Archive complete business entities--not just transactional data but also master and reference data, plus metadata--to a secure, highly compressed, immutable file for later retrieval• You will help customer maintain access to archived data in database instances from existing application interfaces and control access to archived data at the business entity and record-level• Spearhead Data Archive Customer go live.• Ensure all issues are resolved or escalated to the proper resources to resolve in a timely fashion. Additionally, this individual will manage communications to customers at all levels to maintain positive relationships• Manage communications to customers at all levels to maintain positive relationships.• Utilize information tools, training and experience to provide high level of customer satisfaction• Participate in problem escalation and call prevention projects to help customers and other technical specialists increase their efficiency with our productsRequirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field• 3+ years of industry experience in supporting mission critical software components• Knowledge in Data Archive & Retirement Life Cycle• Retention Management data storage is a plus• Ability to propose/differentiate different Data Masking techniques• Experience with Oracle E business Suite, Siebel, PeopleSoft• Strong PLSQL and ability to write sql's to debug data archiving issues• Good knowledge in tuning SQL performance issues• Strong desire to master Database, Data Warehousing, Data Archiving and Business Intelligence tools• Excellent grasp of relational database management theory and practice• Knowledge of ODBC drivers, UNIX and Windows NT operating systems and networks• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills• High degree of analytical and problem solving abilities• Team player who shares ideas and resources• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills• Experience in Oracle, MSSQL Server and/or DB2• Experience in Windows and UNIX flavors of operating system• Ability to work with minimum supervisionDesired• Experience with Oracle E business Suite, Siebel, PeopleSoft• Informatica Power Center• PLSQL, SQL performance tuningInformatica offers a competitive compensation package that includes base salary, medical, retirement and employee stock purchase (ESP) programs, flexible time off and more.
