The Capital Area Council of Governments has a full-time position opening in its Homeland Security Division for a Regional Technical Communications Coordinator. Work involves coordinating implementation of, operation of, and training on the regional Emergency Notification System (ENS) and WebEOC® crisis information management system; coordinating the planning and initiation of radio system projects involving the regional emergency services internet protocol network (ESInet); providing staff support and coordination to CAPCOG Homeland Security Task Force committees and subcommittees; assisting in the planning, developing, and implementing of division programs; and providing consultative services and technical assistance to the emergency management coordinators, public safety responders, public health and medical professionals, elected officials, and other stakeholders within the 10-county area. Services and assistance consist of assessing and planning for public safety and general public preparedness, readiness and response to terrorism, as well as other public threats and emergencies. Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with coursework in emergency management or business administration preferred. Experience: Experience working with emergency response and emergency management, WebEOC®, proficiency in HTML, contracts, grant management, two-way radio communication, project management and public safety emergency response is preferred. Education may be substituted for experience. Salary range: $50,000 -- $57,000 depending on qualifications.
