Our client is the leading manufacturer of comprehensive solar energy products to the residential and commercial markets. They are currently looking for a Shift Manager who will lead the process of Organizational change and Workplace Transformation by the introduction of concepts originating from experience in daily operations. The role is critical in the implementation of lean manufacturing, process improvements, safety and employee relations. Contribute to an award winning and innovative organization, recognized as a leader in the industry.Job Description: This individual will contribute value adding entrepreneurial ideas, leverage team of 15-25, and mobilize energies added to make substantial, lasting change.Specific duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:• Work in collaboration with departments to uncover opportunities, build coalitions and make change happen to optimize production performance.• Recommend improvements to process and/or equipment that enhance the manufacturing performance of the department.• Consider real-value return on investment within the decision-making process.• Initiate and/or suggest opportunities to enhance the Plant's compliance to the principles of a High Performance System.• Set high standards and embrace goals and objectives that are in alignment with operations, reliability, technical, and maintenance organizations.• Build relationships with your team, staying attuned to employee's needs, thereby ensuring the change initiatives momentum is maintained.• Leads employees to achieve performance standards with regards to Good Manufacturing Practices, safety, line utilization and quality.• Aligns team agenda with Annual Operating Plan objectives.• Develops others by training employees - setting expectations, providing feedback and recognizing and rewarding good performance• Evaluate team and individual performance and delegate responsibility, authority, and accountability accordingly.• Initiate and/or suggest opportunities to develop employee's team skills.• Implement corrective action related to process variations, equipment malfunctions, or operations endangering the safety of personnel or facility.• Participate in the selection process for staffing within the group.Additional requirements and qualifications include Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:• 4-Year College Degree is Required - Preferably in an engineering discipline or business• 2-5 Years of experience in a supervisory role• Leadership and entrepreneurial spirit to drive improvements• Must be creative, innovative and practical solution developer who can thrive in a fast paced environment• Must be energetic can do individual with previous lean manufacturing experience and a team player attitude• Excellent organizational skills, a strong ability to set and prioritize goals and the ability to motivate a teamSupervisors are re-assigned to other shifts and locations for career development; must be willing and able to work all shifts, as assigned.If you are a Shift Manager who is looking for a vehicle to take your career to the next level, and has a commitment to excellence, integrity, and professionalism, this may be your opportunity to join a growing company and be part of a successful team.
