Established Houston-based firm is looking for content developers for technical procedures and policies who have at least 3 years business-to-business experience developing such. We specialize in content development and management strategy, including policy/procedure and local work instruction documentation for Fortune 500 clients. Writers must be articulate, customer service-oriented, and unusually adept at creating user-oriented content. At least 3 years of recent business-to-business technical writing experience is required with proven experience leading content organization/ development projects, preferably in the oil/gas industry. Skillset requirements: • Deft ability at capturing and developing highly technical information through SME interviews and exploded views • Succinct writing style with proven ability creating target-friendly content • Current experience writing from scratch in one or all of the following areas: - Manufacturing or lab procedures - Engineering policies and standards • Adept at planning multiple projects based on fixed bids; and consistently meeting deadlines on or below budget with limited oversight • Background documenting a range of projects (R&D to Manufacturing to R&M; corporate policies/procedures) Technical Requirements • Four year degree, preferably in a science • Mechanical aptitude • Advanced experience implementing and troubleshooting MS Word templates and applying styles • Visio, Acrobat Pro, Excel, and PhotoShop (or similar packages) a plus • Videotaping/editing procedures a plus • Sharepoint a plus The twopositions are available as salaried or contract, and should be considered full time during office hours.
