Local company is looking for a Human Resources Assistant . The HR Assistant will provide general support of human resource functions and administrative duties, including but not limited to; recruitment, new hire paperwork, personnel records, employee relations, job evaluation, and training. Functions of the position include accept applications, prescreen candidates, manage applicant flow and recommend candidates to interview. Update associate information in web based programs. Assist with orientation, training, new hire paperwork and new hire checklist. Complete reference checks, order background checks, motor vehicle reports and arrange for pre-employment drug testing for new hires. Assemble and compile data for reports or presentations as scheduled or requested. Distribute birthday cards. Manage I-9 binder and ensure labor law postings are current. Process, verify and maintain associate files. Provide authorized employment verifications for financial or housing institutions. Order and inventory uniforms, pick up and drop off dry cleaning as necessary. Assemble new hire packets and update forms as needed. The ideal candidate will possess the following:Valid Driver's License required. Two years of work experience in HR. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and professionalism. Effectively communicate to a broad range of audience including executive level managers. Ability to write reports, presentations and correspondence. Must have attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, be flexible and highly self-motivated.
