The Dallas Human Resources Generalist performs administrative functions of an organization, such as handling employee related issues, payroll questions, recruiting, EEOC claims, benefits, and addressing HR related items in accordance with policies and requirements that have been established in conjunction with management. Must have the ability to juggle these tasks and, increasingly, consult Supervisor regarding strategic planning. Must be able to take leadership and work independently. Attention to detail and follow through is critical. Must be comfortable with in an environment where there is a high volume of email and time spent speaking with employees over the phone. PHR & Bilingual are a definite plus. Prefer extensive experience working with employee relations -- ADA, FMLA, coaching managers, compliance, etc. Prefer experience recruiting at all levels in an organization. 10 years of experience preferred. Strong computer skills and experience with Human Resource systems.Responsibilities: Improve Client morale and productivity and limit job turnover. Handle all aspects of human resources work, requiring a broad range of knowledge. Fully assists and supports the HR Supervisor in the development of personnel programs and policies. Handle the areas of personnel activity such as employment, compensation, benefits, training and development, or employee relations. Screens job applicants, provides input for interviews, and runs background and criminal checks on applicants. You will also be required to check references and extend job offers. Must be able to adapt and have full knowledge of the organizations and the necessities of all Companies involved and its personnel policies to discuss wages, working conditions, and promotional opportunities with prospective employees. Must be on top of equal employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, Civil Rights, etc. Assist in the investigation and document EEO grievances, examine corporate practices for possible violations, and compile and submit to Supervisor. Planning the day to day operations and responsibilities is an important part of the specialist's job in order to identify and assess training needs within the company. When training and/or support is needed you must confer with managers and supervisors or conduct surveys. You must also be able to track effectiveness. Although most of the job will be in the Houston/Dallas area, you will be asked to travel some depending on the job. Maintains a professional work environment and directs all concerns to Supervisor to ensure immediate resolution. Must be able to define Client policies, government regulations affecting payroll or employment issues and compliance. Provide support in the benefits programs, and benefit plans. Processes employment verifications and unemployment claims. Maintain appropriate records for reference. Processes and assists in payroll processing such as hours worked, insurance deductions, miscellaneous deductions, union dues from payroll worksheets and timesheets. Work independently and follows through on policies and procedures while maintaining an accurate log of all items received, completed and delivered. Establishes rapport with Properties and communicates outstanding issues. Assist and Facilitate training of BH Management employees with the Career Development Manager. Gather feedback to enhance current processes. Train Managers for personal development.Other Responsibilities: Conduct yourself in a professional manner demonstrating leadership qualities at all times. Complete all reports with accuracy by the assigned deadline. Perform the tasks delegated by your supervisors.
