Job Title: Assistant Manager of Human ResourcesReports To: Director of Human ResourcesPosition Purpose: The Asst Mgr of HR will be responsible with helping develop recruiting strategies, policies and procedures development, benefit implementation, and payroll processing. Roles & Responsibilities: Primary duties include but not limited to the following: Participate in planning, developing, recommending and implementing human resources activities, policies, procedures and programs for the organization. Participate in activities relating to staffing, employee education and training, management development, employee relations, affirmative action, benefits and salary administration. Partner with leadership team to align and execute HR strategies in support of the business goals. Provide advice, counsel and coaching to employees regarding HR policies and procedures. Work with all levels of management on departmental needs; helps define job roles and requirements. Regularly evaluate and monitor HR vendor performance. Ensure payroll is processed on time and accurately providing oversight and guidance to payroll processor and outsourced payroll provider. Assist in the benefit program design and implementation. Help ensure that employees understand benefit changes and enrollment processes. Monitor and maintain compliance with appropriate federal and local laws and regulations related to human resources/employment issues (wage and hour, Affirmative Action, EEO, ADA, FMLA) Assist with other HR projects as necessary.Qualifications/Experience: Experience with Ultipro HRIS system Minimum 8 - 10 years experience in progressive HR roles. Strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, solid judgment and a strong business focus. Hands on experience with benefit plans, benefit compliance and 401 k plans. Proficient knowledge of HR policies, procedures and other HR functional areas. Proven ability to develop strong working relationships. General understanding of compensation theory, techniques and practices. Business acumen and solid knowledge of HR generalist skills including: compensation, benefits, training, recruiting, etc. Must demonstrate ability to operate independently, use strong judgment in decision-making, problem solving and discretion. Comprehensive knowledge of HR business processes/procedures, HR regulations and compliance requirements.Specific Requirements/Competencies: Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow through skills. Strong communication skills -- verbal and written. Demonstrated experience interacting with employees at all levels and providing excellent customer service. Ability to handle and manage multiple assignments and projects while effectively balancing schedules and ad hoc request. Location: Lafayette, LA Compensation: DOE $40,000 to $45,000Principals only.
