We need more doctors not Obamacare1. There is a shortage of doctors and the shortage of doctors makes health care increase in price. a. Google CNBC mar 13, 2013 Doctor Shortage getting worseb. Google HNGN June 17,2013 Scarcity of Primary Care Physicians causes growing concern in US c. Google AHIP Premiums 101 look for reference to article by Ginsberg and Berensend. Google AHIP Rising Health Care Cost and click on blue box regarding Consolidating Providerse.Google meglo article Health Affairs:Unchecked Provider Cloutin California foreshadows challenges to Health Reform vol 32 no 11 November 2013 look for Capacity Constraints last paragraph2. President Kennedy was able to inspire 210,000 Americans to become Peace Corp volunteers. In WWII we were able to manufacture planes and boats to fill the need.We need someone to inspire Americans to go into the medical field by:a. Scholarships for premed student who in return will work at community clinic for a time in repayment and loan forgiveness for those who will work for a time in low cost community clinics.b. Grants for medical training facilities who in return will offer low cost medical carec. Our vets need jobs. Our vets have the GI bill. Why not ask them to go into a different service for our country and offer additional incentives to go into the medical fieldd. Currently we import doctors from other countries. Why not import more but with the constraint that they pass competency exams.3. Obamacare is an ongoing debacle. Premiums will go up and there will be rationing. A wiser course of action is to encourage competition and use the principles of supply and demand by focusing on the real problem a shortage of doctor, nurses and medical staff. If there were a glut of doctors there is not doubt insurance would go down. While having a glut of doctors is improbable more doctors who have the incentive to provide low cost care would offer competition to existing medical care insurance providers and in a sensible fashion lower health cost. Free medical care is a sham and any reasoning person must conclude that it is a financial impossibility for any length of time. To offer that to a large population of needy is to raise hopes unfairly. Any audacity of hope must be met with a modicum of sensibility.
