CompanyFamily-owned company headquartered in the Texas hill country is looking for a Windows System Engineer to support an enterprise environment. They are a vertically integrated company - they design, manufacture, market and sell their own products. BenefitsWorld class benefits including comprehensive health benefits, 401K matching, and generous PTO policy.JobYou will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining windows systems, windows server applications, and core services (i.e. DNS, DHCP, Active Directory). You will also provide architectural direction, planning and execution for storage systems and virtualized platforms, as well as provide tier 3 support on complex operational issues.• Design, configure, and maintain the enterprise Windows domain infrastructure and core services including, but not limited to AD, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, IAS, and IIS• Assess, implement and maintain Windows-based server applications to align to customer needs and company goals of security, sustainability, reliability and performance• Design, implement, maintain and provide architectural guidance on storage solutions in support of our enterprise-wide storage requirements• Analyze and optimize storage availability, performance, security and capacity by using appropriate management interfaces; assess and provide recommendations for capacity planning to meet future needs• Maintain a thorough understanding of storage technologies and protocols such as SAN, NAS, fiber switches, SCSI, iSCSI, SATA, SAS, FC, FCoE• Design, build, configure and sustain the VMWare/vSphere environment including vCenter and VMWare servers that scales to the demands of a virtualized environment• Leverage VMWare/VMotion technologies to enhance reliability and availability of critical systems• Develop, maintain and periodically test the disaster recovery plan for the enterprise Windows domain, ensuring business continuity for all core services and critical server applications• Investigate and provide corrective action for Tier 3 HelpDesk priorities; provide training to T1/T2 technicians as required• Adhere to Company policies including but not limited to the Attendance Guideline, Freedom from Harassment and Employee Discount Guideline.Qualifications • Proficient knowledge of Windows systems architecture and design, scripting, troubleshooting systems, designing fail-safe architectures, integrating multiple redundant components, integrating disparate systems (Linux) and tuning Windows and storage systems.• Demonstrated experience creating proven disaster recovery action plans• Experience with Windows Architecture, Installation and System Administration• Windows core services (AD, DNS, DHCP, IAS)• Fiber or ISCSI Storage Design and Administration• VMWare (virtualized) systems• Backup/restore processesAbility to pass a criminal background check
