Electrical Engineer (Power and Instrumentation) (Dallas, Texas) Responsibilities: Electrical Engineer (Power) Specialists work in a fast-paced environment, with other engineering disciplines to provide detailed designs and construction specifications for the installation of new and equipment and systems. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Engineering support for the design, operation, material/component selection and procurement, construction, activation, and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems, load center panels, and supporting infrastructure Provide support and direction to electricians and instrumentation technicians during construction, activation, and maintenance of power distribution, motor controls, test stands and equipment Support testing campaigns by monitoring and reviewing critical issue tickets, responding in a timely fashion to troubleshoot and remedy electrical equipment Develop novel ways to streamline site-wide processes and increase the reliability and efficiency of testing operations Perform any additional tasks that ensure efficient and effective testing, as required Basic Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or A.S. in Electrical Systems Technology and a min. of 5 years work experience Good understanding of high voltage power distribution systems Good response to challenges posed by short deadlines Ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment, under possible extended work hours Acute attention to detail, ability to see interactions with other systems to avoid problems AutoCAD -- Intermediate (AutoCAD Electrical a plus) Visio -- Intermediate P&ID -- interpret NEC, NFPA and IBC analysis PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Electrical and power distribution systems High Voltage systems (12,470Vac 3 phase) Medium Voltage systems (480/277Vac 3 phase) Delta and Wye configurations Low Voltage systems (208/120Vac 3 phase) Substations (utility company) Switchgear and Motor control centers Primary and secondary power distribution Panel circuit assignment, load center balancing Building lighting, building construction specifications, and facility grounding UPS systems, Backup Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches Power monitoring hardware and software Combination motor starters, VFDs, electrical motor troubleshooting/repair Ladder programming skills in RSlogix 500 and RSlogix 5000 with associated AB PLC Hardware Communicate with electrical utilities personnel, both on the design/engineering side and maintenance side Instrumentation, testing, data review and analysis, is a plus ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights Remain focused while working in hazardous environments, while wearing appropriate PPE Physical effort including lifting and carrying of materials, tools, and equipment Electrical Engineers (Power) and (Instrumentation)-WACO AREA!!!!
